Remontowa Tech Unity and Techano Oceanlift Showcase Advanced Offshore Crane in Gdańsk

Representatives of maritime and offshore companies, clients, and business partners gathered in Gdańsk for an event organised by Remontowa Tech Unity (RTU), part of the Remontowa Holding group, in partnership with Norwegian firm Techano Oceanlift. The centrepiece of the event was a live demonstration of an advanced crane system designed for demanding offshore operations — but the meeting was equally an opportunity to showcase RTU’s broader capabilities in delivering complex technical projects for the marine industry.

The event drew guests with interest in cutting-edge solutions for the offshore and maritime sectors. Attendees were able to view demonstrations of systems and equipment supplied by Remontowa Tech Unity, speak with technical experts, and gain an in-depth look at selected project implementations. The highlight of the programme was the presentation of a crane built by RTU for Techano Oceanlift.

The crane on display was engineered for challenging offshore environments. Among its key features is an Active Heave Compensation (AHC) system, which counteracts vessel motion caused by wave action, enabling safe and precise lifting operations at sea. The unit is equipped with a 70-tonne capacity winch and a 3,000-metre working wire. Its safe working load reaches 70 tonnes at a 12-metre outreach and 20 tonnes at a 30-metre outreach.

The system also incorporates the SafeLift solution — a 3D compensation tool supporting precision cargo handling and installation operations. Redundancy systems built into the design enhance reliability and allow continuous operation during critical offshore tasks.

The crane was manufactured for Techano Oceanlift, a Norwegian provider of advanced lifting and load-handling systems for the marine and offshore industries. This is not the first project delivered by RTU for this partner — two earlier units of a similar type were previously supplied and installed aboard newly built vessels destined for offshore service. The project is a further example of technically advanced equipment designed and built in Gdańsk finding its way onto global offshore markets.

Remontowa Tech Unity specialises in complex technical projects for the maritime, offshore, energy, and industrial sectors. The company integrates the engineering, manufacturing, and project delivery expertise of Remontowa Holding’s subsidiaries, coordinating full project cycles — from engineering design and prefabrication through to assembly, commissioning, and technical acceptance. RTU’s areas of competence include hydraulic systems, piping installations, process equipment, HVAC systems, steel structures, automation, electrical installations, and switchgear for demanding industrial and marine applications.
