POLSCA Baltic Ferries Launches on March 30 — Poland’s Ferry Operators Unite Under One Brand

Three shipowners, one brand, and a shared destination — Scandinavia. On March 30, 2026, POLSCA S.A. officially begins operations, consolidating ticket sales, fleet management, and route networks under the POLSCA Baltic Ferries banner.

From that date, ticket sales for cargo clients, individual passengers, B2B partners, and travel agents across Poland and Scandinavia will be handled through a single, integrated system. The new company brings together the experience and resources of three Polish ferry operators: Polferries, Unity Line, and Euroafrica.

A Unified Route Network and Shared Sales System

The creation of POLSCA Baltic Ferries is the result of a strategic decision to pool strengths and boost the competitiveness of Polish ferry operators on the Baltic Sea. The new brand will serve key routes between Poland and Sweden — from Świnoujście to Ystad and Trelleborg, and from Gdańsk to Nynäshamn. A new route connecting Gdańsk with Karlshamn is also in preparation, planned for launch in the first half of 2026.

According to POLSCA S.A.’s press office, the integration means not only a shared visual identity, but above all the unification of commercial and operational processes. Customers will gain access to a single offer, a single sales channel, and a more transparent route structure — translating into greater availability of sailings and easier travel planning.

“By combining our sales, operations, and fleet management, we are cutting costs while also eliminating the phenomenon of mutual competition on the same routes,” said Paweł Pluto-Prądzyński, Director of Unity Line’s Polish division. “In the past, ferries from different Polish operators sometimes departed on the same line within very short intervals. During periods of high demand this was justified, but at lower occupancy it led to inefficient fleet utilisation. Thanks to cooperation, we can optimally manage traffic — one vessel serves market demand, while the remaining ships can be directed to other routes where they generate additional revenue.”

11 Ro-Pax Ferries on the Baltic

At launch, POLSCA will operate a fleet of 11 ro-pax ferries running scheduled services between Poland and Sweden. This operational scale will allow greater flexibility in managing sailing timetables, ensuring year-round service stability, and making more efficient use of port infrastructure. It also provides a solid foundation for further expanding the route network later in 2026.

“The fleets of individual operators currently number just a few vessels each, which significantly limits growth potential in the context of the European ferry market,” said Piotr Redmerski, President of the Board of Polska Żegluga Bałtycka S.A. “The combined strength of more than ten ships opens up a real prospect of expanding into new markets and launching additional routes. The merging of financially strong partners, backed by the State Treasury, also means greater financial stability, increased investment capacity, and stronger credibility with business partners and financial institutions. This is the foundation for the continued development of Polish Baltic ferry shipping.”

A Modern Operator with Leadership Ambitions

POLSCA Baltic Ferries aims to become a modern, integrated ferry operator combining economies of scale with digitalised sales and customer service. The consolidation of fleets and operational structures will enable the development of a unified online booking system, better alignment of the offer with real market needs, and a consistent strengthening of the Polish operator’s position on the Baltic.

For cargo customers, this means simplified procedures, greater operational predictability, and better support for supply chains between Poland and Scandinavia. For passengers, it means a wider range of sailings available in one place, a consistent service standard, and the development of a loyalty programme. Business partners will benefit from a unified cooperation model and a stronger, shared marketing presence across Polish and Scandinavian markets.

A Symbolic New Chapter

March 30, 2026 marks not only the launch of sales operations, but also the symbolic moment of transition from integration to full market activity. POLSCA Baltic Ferries begins its journey as a shared brand of Polish ferry operators, with a clear ambition: to build a strong, modern, and leading position in ferry connections between Poland and Scandinavia.
