More NATO ships on technical visit to Port of Gdynia

Frigate HDMS Esbern Snare (F342) Two NATO ships will enter the port of Gdynia on Friday. HDMS Esbern Snare and HNLMS Tromp are part of the NATO Standing Maritime Forces Group – SNMG-1.

The expected visit of the two ships was briefly reported by the Maritime Portal on its social media profiles already on Wednesday.

The ships are expected to dock at the French Quay of the port of Gdynia. The entry of both ships is tentatively planned after 10:00.

Cmdr Lt Anna Sech, spokeswoman for the 3rd Flotilla of Ships named after kmdr Bolesław Romanowski, told PAP that this is a standard working visit. “The vessels will enter the port of Gdynia to replenish supplies,” she – She added.

HDMS Esbern Snare (F342) is an ‘Absalon’ type frigate serving with the Royal Danish Navy. HNLMS Tromp (F803), on the other hand, is a ‘De Zeven Provincien’ type frigate serving with the Royal Netherlands Navy.

SNMG-1 (Standing NATO Maritime Group One) is one of NATO’s Standing Maritime Immediate Response Forces, comprising selected destroyers and frigates from member states. Its role is to provide NATO with an immediate operational response capability.
