Baltic Hub Secures Funding for Key Intermodal Transport Project

Baltic Hub has announced that its electrification and modernization project for the intermodal terminal has been selected for support by the Centre for EU Transport Projects (CUPT). This represents an important step toward further modernizing intermodal transport in Poland and the region.

Baltic Hub will receive funding exceeding 220 million PLN, which amounts to approximately 50 percent of the entire project cost.

The implementation of the comprehensive program includes the modernization and expansion of terminal infrastructure, purchase of modern equipment, and deployment of advanced telematics systems.

According to the company, the project addresses the needs of businesses using the TEN-T network – shipowners, logistics operators, rail carriers, and transport companies.

“Thanks to this investment, we will increase throughput, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the sustainable nature of transport. For our partners, this means better access to modern infrastructure, shorter operational times, greater potential for international development, and real support for environmental goals,” Baltic Hub stated.

Baltic Hub (formerly Deepwater Container Terminal Gdańsk, DCT Gdańsk) is Poland’s largest container terminal and the only deep-water terminal in the Baltic Sea. In 2024, it handled 2.2 million TEU. The company employs over 1,400 people. The firm is owned by three entities: PSA International (40 percent stake), Polish Development Fund (30 percent stake), and IFM Global Infrastructure Fund (30 percent stake).
