Orlen Group’s net profit for the six months of this year amounted to PLN 2 billion 761 million and was PLN 12 billion 729 million lower than in the same period of the previous year, the company said on Wednesday evening in its consolidated half-year report.

After taking into account income tax of PLN 2bn 773m, Orlen Group’s net profit for the six months of 2024 reached PLN 2bn 761m and was PLN 12bn 729m lower year-on-year, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

In a press release, the conglomerate said that the Orlen Group, despite the increasing pressure of the macroeconomic environment, ended the second quarter of this year with a LIFO EBITDA operating profit, excluding the effect of regulation, of PLN 11.3 billion, higher by 8 per cent year-on-year. As highlighted, the energy segment had a positive impact on the result.

Increased volumes in the upstream segment, which offset the negative macro impact, also contributed to the good result, Orlen said.

At the same time, the company calculated that in the six months of this year it allocated PLN 14 billion for investments supporting the energy transition and increasing Poland’s energy security.
