Dworczyk: we are the main transport route for Ukrainian products
After the closure of the Black Sea ports, we are the main transport route for Ukrainian products, Michał Dworczyk, head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, said on Tuesday.
The head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, asked on Polish Radio’s Channel 1’s “Signals of the Day” about the launch of five additional points for lorries at the Korczowa border crossing announced by him on Monday, noted that work on increasing the capacity of goods transport from Ukraine “had been going on for several weeks”. They were attended by the heads of Polish ministries in consultation with the Ukrainian side.
– After the closure of ports on the Black Sea, we are the main transport route for Ukrainian products,” Dworczyk noted. Thanks to the new points for trucks, cargo traffic between Poland and Ukraine is to double. – Being a transit country brings tangible benefits to Polish entrepreneurs, on the one hand we help Ukraine and on the other Polish entrepreneurs benefit from it,” he noted.
On Monday, the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, together with Oleksandr Kubrakov, Ukrainian minister of infrastructure, Bartosz Grodecki, deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration and Elżbieta Leniart, Podkarpackie voivode, participated in a press conference at the border crossing between Poland and Ukraine Korczowa-Krakowiec.
– Five additional checkpoints for lorries were opened today,” Dworczyk said. – This means that within 10 days we managed to double the number of checkpoints; we are convinced that this will have a major impact on streamlining traffic and reducing queues on both sides,” he noted.
The head of the Chancellery pointed to good cooperation with the Ukrainian side, as well as with the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Border Guard and other entities involved.
