Cooperation between ST3 OFFSHORE Sp. z o.o. and the West Pomeranian Maritime and Polytechnic Education Center

On 28.02.2019 a letter of intent was signed by ST3 OFFSHORE sp. o.o. and the West Pomeranian Maritime and Polytechnic Education Center, which aims to confirm the common will of the Parties to activate and promote vocational education. It would consist in adapting the educational offer, creating additional welding training for the project’s participants. This would enable students (and not only) to obtain the necessary qualifications to get a job in the steel construction industry, first of all in one of the largest local labor market companies, i.e. ST 3 OFFSHORE sp. z o.o.

Cooperation of the Parties will be based on undertaking various activities aimed at organizing additional welding training in the West Pomeranian Maritime and Polytechnic Education Center in accordance with the guidelines of the Welding Institute in Gliwice regarding welding method 136 – and supplementing knowledge and practice with internal processes in ST 3 OFFSHORE. For this purpose, the company will organize visualizations and internships for pupils, and subsequently will employ those interested in cooperation.

The parties recognize the need to educate in the direction of welding and to extend skills of students with basic certificates. Through theoretical vocational training, graduates of the following faculties: ship mechanic technician, vessel technician and mechatronics technician, will be able to meet the needs of the local labor market in the future, thereby eliminating the shortage of employees with such specific professional competence.

We presented to students of the West Pomeranian Maritime and Polytechnic Education Center, the professional development project and what opportunities it creates for them. The company, structure and terms of employment were presented. In addition, thanks to the cooperation of ST 3 OFFSHORE sp. o.o. with the Industrial Development Agency, the students got acquainted with the platform earmarked especially for them.
