Kuehne+Nagel opens modern logistics centre in Szczecin
Kuehne+Nagel has opened a modern dedicated distribution centre in Szczecin. The facility of nearly 21,000 sq m is equipped with 18 loading ramps and modern warehousing solutions such as a drive-in racking system, palletising robots, telescopic conveyors and automated packaging and filming machines.
Kuehne+Nagel manages the logistics comprehensively from the arrival of the products at the seaports in Gdansk and Gdynia, through the unloading of the containers, the handling of customs formalities and the receipt of the goods at the warehouse in Szczecin. The processes of palletising, foiling, order picking and labelling support the preparation of customer articles for further distribution.
Using its extensive European road network, Kuehne+Nagel guarantees efficient delivery both in the B2C channel as part of its e-commerce services and to regional retail outlets in the B2B channel in Poland and Western Europe.
Kuehne+Nagel additionally offers value-added services (VAS). These include returns management in the B2B channel, labelling and packaging taking into account the requirements of the individual sales networks and bundling products into promotional kits as part of a co-packing service. It manages the distribution centre based on its own warehouse management system (WMS) integrated with the client’s ERP system.
– Strategically located, with good access to expressways, seaports and efficient road connections to seaports, the Szczecin centre ensures efficient distribution of the client’s products throughout Western Europe and Poland. With the opening of the new location, we are initially securing dozens of new jobs. By providing reliable and comprehensive inbound and outbound logistics services, we enable customers to focus more on the key aspects of their business, while leading to their dynamic growth,’ said Christophe Le Corre, director of contract logistics at Kuehne+Nagel.
