Green Methanol-Powered Container Ship Arrives at Baltic Hub
The Adrian Maersk (length 351m, width 54m, capacity 16,000 TEU) – a modern container ship powered by green methanol – has docked at Baltic Hub. This vessel is one of 18 newest units in the Maersk fleet, designed to reduce emissions in maritime transport.
Adrian Maersk is part of a new generation fleet that plays a key role in Maersk’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2040. The first methanol-powered container ship in the Danish carrier’s fleet was the Ane Maersk.
Ships from the new series feature an industry-first innovative design with the bridge and accommodation placed at the front of the vessel, allowing for greater cargo capacity and reduced fuel consumption.
The use of green methanol enables a real reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and responds to growing customer expectations for sustainable supply chains.
Baltic Hub, as one of the most technologically advanced container terminals in the Baltic Sea region, is fully prepared to handle modern low-emission vessels.
