Ferry Varsovia Changes Colours to POLSCA at Remontowa Shiprepair Yard S.A.

Poland’s newest Baltic ferry undergoes warranty servicing and a symbolic rebranding — as three national shipping operators consolidate under a single banner.
The ferry Varsovia arrived at the Remontowa Shiprepair Yard S.A. on the evening of Monday, 25 May, for a scheduled warranty service combined with an intermediate class survey. Among the works planned during the shipyard stay is a highly visible change: the Polferries livery will give way to the new POLSCA brand.
POLSCA is a shared brand created by three Polish ferry operators: Polska Żegluga Morska (operating as Unity Line), the Hass Holding group (EuroAfrica), and Polska Żegluga Bałtycka (Polferries). The partnership aims to consolidate operations while preserving the legal independence and internal structures of each company. Together, the three operators field a fleet of eleven ferries serving routes between Poland and Scandinavia, and the alliance is designed to strengthen Polish competitiveness on the Baltic Sea.
Until January of this year — when the Jantar Unity, also built at Remontowa in Gdańsk, entered service — Varsovia held the distinction of being the most modern ferry on the Baltic. She departed the Italian yard of Cantiere Navale Visentini on 11 July 2024, and made her inaugural voyage north to Scandinavia on 27 July 2024, operating the Świnoujście–Ystad crossing.
Under an agreement signed and announced in summer 2022, Polferries committed to chartering the vessel for ten years, with an option to purchase after six years of operation.
The Varsovia can accommodate up to 920 passengers and 60 crew members per voyage. Her ro-ro cargo capacity spans 3 kilometres of lane length, handling 140 to 150 trucks with trailers, alongside space for approximately 200 passenger cars. On board, travellers find 230 cabins across several comfort categories, a food and beverage zone with a bar and restaurant, a shop, and dedicated entertainment areas. The ferry is expected to return to service on the Świnoujście–Ystad route on 7 June 2026.
