Obajtek

PKN Orlen has signed three strategic agreements with a Saudi company. These are a framework agreement in the area of analyses and investments in petrochemistry, an agreement on cooperation in research and development and a long-term contract for oil supplies, PKN Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek said on Wednesday.

Saudi Aramco will be a strategic partner that will cover 30 percent of the spun-off Gdansk Refinery, wholesale and the jet fuel area, Obajtek stressed.

The president of PKN Orlen said that PKN Orlen’s partner in the takeover of Lotos – Saudi Aramco sets trends on the markets, it is the largest oil producer in the world and a leader in modern petrochemistry.

Saudi Aramco does not go with trends, but sets them. It is the largest oil producer in the world, the leader in the development of modern petrochemistry, it has access to modern technologies, thousands of patents, the research and development base all over the world – he said.

He noted that at the same time PKN Orlen signed three strategic agreements with the Saudi company. These are a framework agreement in the area of analyses and investments in petrochemistry, an agreement on cooperation in research and development and a long-term contract for the supply of crude oil, which, Obajtek said, will flow to all Orlen refineries in Poland, Lithuania and the Czech Republic.
